Betty White's Famous Chicken Wings Recipe

A sweet and savory buttery wing recipe inspired by the legendary Betty White. Perfect for game days, parties, or cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs chicken wings, separated into drumsticks and flats
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup water or chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon dry mustard
  • ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1–2 teaspoons honey (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Arrange wings in a single layer on a shallow baking dish lined with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. In a medium saucepan, heat butter, soy sauce, brown sugar, water or chicken broth, dry mustard, garlic powder, and optional ingredients until well combined. Set aside to cool.
  3. Once cooled, pour the sauce over the tray of wings. Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate to marinate for a minimum of 2 hours, up to 24 hours. Rotate wings 4 times during marination.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F. Uncover the wings and bake for 1¼ to 1½ hours, flipping halfway through baking for even color and glaze.
  5. Remove wings from the baking pan immediately and serve while hot. Perfect with your favorite dipping sauces!
