❤️ Instructions
Step 1 – Prepare the Felt Circles
Trace two 3” circles onto black felt using a white chalk pencil. Cut out along the lines for a clean finish. Loosen the screw at the top of the embroidery hoop and separate the inner and outer hoops.
Step 2 – Layer & Fit the Felt
Layer red felt over black felt so 4” of black is at the top and 3” of red is at the bottom. Fit loosely into the hoop, gently pulling from the back to make it taut, then tighten the screw.
Step 3 – Trim & Secure
Trim excess felt from the back. Apply a thin line of glue to the cut edges to secure. You can also use liquid craft glue but allow time to dry.
Step 4 – Paint the Hoop
Paint the top and outer edge black; let dry and apply a second coat if needed. Paint the bottom and outer edge red; allow to dry fully.
Step 5 – Add the Buttons
Thread black embroidery floss into each yellow button, secure with a knot, and trim the tails. Slide scrap paper into the pocket to protect it, then glue the buttons to the top edge of the red felt.
Step 6 – Attach Mickey’s Ears
Glue the ears to the top left and right of the hoop, using the screw as the center. Flip over and secure the backs with glue. Optional: finish the back with a circle of red or black felt if giving as a gift.
